Fever-Tree’s Net Zero Targets Have Been Validated by Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)

Fever-Tree is taking action to address climate change in a data-led and systemic way. As of 7 August 2025, Fever-Tree has officially had its decarbonisation targets verified by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Corporate Net Zero Standard, confirming our analysis has been calculated in accordance with the principles of SBTi.

What is net zero?

Globally, net-zero is achieved by "cutting greenhouse gas emissions to as close to zero as possible with any remaining emissions re-absorbed from the atmosphere, by oceans and forests for instance" – UN Net Zero Coalition.

What is SBTi?

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a corporate climate action organisation that enables companies worldwide to play their part in combating the climate crisis. SBTi defines and promotes best practice in science-based target setting and independently assesses and approves companies’ greenhouse gas emissions reductions targets in line with what is needed to keep global heating below catastrophic levels and reach net-zero by 2050 at latest. It is a partnership between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

The SBTi Corporate Net Zero Standard provides a science-based framework for companies to set net-zero targets aligned with climate science to prevent the worst impacts of climate change from occurring. SBTi have verified that Fever-Tree’s carbon footprint baseline and future targets are aligned with the most ambitious 1.5°C global warming pathway, covering Scope 1, 2, and 3 (i.e. emissions derived from all activities up and down our supply chains).

Our Commitments

What makes up Fever-Tree’s carbon footprint?

Scope 1 Emissions

Scope 1 covers emissions from sources that an organisation owns or controls directly – for example from burning fuel in our offices or vehicle fleet.

Scope 2 Emissions

Scope 2 are emissions that a company causes indirectly from the energy it purchases. For example, the emissions caused when generating the electricity that we use in our buildings would fall into this category.

 Scope 3 Emissions

Scope 3 encompasses emissions that we are indirectly responsible for up and down our value chain. An example of this is when we buy, use and dispose of products from suppliers. Scope 3 emissions include all other emission sources not within the scope 1 and 2 boundaries.

What’s next?

In order to meet our climate targets, Fever-Tree will need to first demonstrate rapid decarbonisation across the company’s top 3 carbon hotspots over the next 10 years; before addressing harder to abate emissions across the full value chain to reach net zero by 2050. This is displayed in our net zero trajectory below*.

*Please note that this general linear trajectory simplifies the reality of corporate decarbonisation, so we acknowledge that in reality significant actions may cause more dramatic spikes instead of the consistent YoY reductions displayed.
