Light Ginger Beer

By brewing a blend of three gingers from Nigeria, Cochin and the Ivory Coast, we have created an award-winning ginger beer that has been highly acclaimed by gastronomes and critics alike. Not too sweet on the palate and with a deep, long-lasting ginger character. Perfect in a Dark & Stormy, Moscow Mule or simply as a soft drink on its own.

Taste

A distinct, fresh ginger taste predominates. It is refreshing and clean-tasting without being overly sweet. As the liquid passes through the palate, the ginger will fill the whole mouth, leaving a warmth at the back of the throat.

Key Ingredients

To achieve the fiery, full-bodied taste of our Refreshingly Light Ginger Beer we selected three types of ginger for their complementary, yet distinctive, flavour profiles. From Cochin in India, we source a variety that lends a warm and spicy flavour. From the Ivory Coast, we get a fresh green ginger that has an incredible lemongrass freshness. Finally, our Nigerian ginger brings a deep, intense flavour to the blend. In our Refreshingly Light version, we use fruit sugar to sweeten the drink.

Fresh Green Ginger

Zingiber officinale

Ivory Coast

The discovery of this ginger from the Ivory Coast was a real ‘eureka’ moment for Charles and Tim. Unlike any other ginger, it has an incredible lemongrass freshness to its aroma due to the oils being extracted as soon as the ginger is harvested. Charles has visited the farmers in the Ivory Coast who are cultivating this unique ginger and distilling the oils specially for Fever-Tree.

Nigerian Ginger

Zingiber officinale

Nigeria

The ginger that we source from Nigeria has an aromatic intensity to it that adds depth to the ginger flavour. It perfectly complements the fresh zesty notes of the fresh green ginger and the warm and spicy notes of the ginger that we source from Cochin in South West India.

Cochin Ginger

Zingiber officinale

Cochin, India

Uniquely warm and spicy, this ginger complements the flavour notes in the Nigerian ginger and fresh green ginger perfectly. These are cultivated by a small specialist producer in the beautiful Cochin area of India, where Charles and Tim have been to visit the farmers.
