CIRCULARITY
Designing out waste and rethinking packaging for a more sustainable future.
Packaging Innovation
The circular economy is an approach that moves away from the traditional “take-make-dispose” model, aiming instead to keep materials in use for as long as possible through reuse, recycling, and thoughtful design.
At Fever-Tree, the circular economy is central to our packaging innovation strategy. We’re committed to closing the loop, keeping materials in circulation and reducing the need for new resource extraction. For example, we are increasing recycled content, lightweighting formats, designing for recyclability, and reducing the use of virgin materials. Most recently, we’ve trialled innovative solutions like draught dispense systems that eliminate the need for packaging altogether.
Infinite Recyclability
Sustainable packaging design requires formats that minimise the impact on the environment, while fulfilling the requirement to protect, transport and present our drinks. We never use PET bottles, instead using infinitely recyclable glass bottles and aluminium cans, and we use a proportion of recycled content in our bottles and cans which contributes to a reduction in the energy and water required in packaging production, compared to virgin materials with 0% recycled content.
Waste
We are striving to achieve zero waste to landfill (ZWTL) across our operations and throughout our supply chain. This means that all waste generated should either be reused, recycled, composted, or utilised for energy recovery. We are also actively seeking to minimise food waste and stock write-offs by donating shorter-dated products to charitable partners, preventing tonnes of surplus drinks going to waste every year.
